CSCS boys' basketball team wins third-place game

At DU: No. 3 Colorado Springs Christian School rallied from a fourth-quarter, six-point deficit before going on to win in overtime.

Lookens Smith hit a 3-pointer from the corner early in the extra period, then hit two free throws down the stretch to help put the third-place game out of reach.

Justin Engesser hit an off-balance shot while being fouled with 1:20 to play. He hit the free throw to give the Lions the lead for good 58-55. Engesser led all scorers with 28 points.

The Lions entered the 3A tournament as the two-time defending 3A state champions but were knocked off in the semifinals by No. 10 Sterling on Friday.
