Highlights from Friday's high school sports scene around the Pikes Peak region.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Palmer Ridge 64, Falcon 62

At Falcon: Cory McLellan scored 20 points and rolled in the go-ahead layup with 10 seconds remaining as Palmer Ridge (7-4, 1-1 5A/4A Pikes Peak Athletic Conference) beat Falcon (3-5, 0-2).

Zach Hester added 11 points to help the Bears snap a two-game losing streak.

Falcon rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to take a lead into the final minute. McLellan, though, hit a 3 to cut the lead to one in the final minutes and then scored with 10 seconds left to give Palmer Ridge a 63-62 lead.

Falcon missed on its next possession and McLellan grabbed the rebound and was fouled with less than a second remaining. The junior made his first attempt before intentionally missing the second to end the game.

"So far this year our guys never give up no matter what the score," Palmer Ridge coach Nick Mayer said. "But on the flip side we've had stretches where we've given up these 12-0, 18-1 runs that have hurt us.

"We got to keep the first part of 'never giving up.' The second part we got to fix."
