2. Manitou Springs 10-3 No. 1

3. St. Mary's 8-6 No. 3

BREAKDOWN: Fountain-Fort Carson's loss to Palmer over the weekend hurts the Trojans' chances at an outright 5A CSML title. However, it travels to first-place Pine Creek on Saturday and then hosts the Eagles on May 2 before finishing the regular season against Coronado on May 4. The Eagles are unbeaten in league play while F-FC has losses to Palmer and Doherty. ... Cheyenne Mountain finally dropped a game this season, falling to Lewis-Palmer two days after the Indians blanked L-P. Next, the Indians face Sand Creek on Tuesday before getting tested by Air Academy in a home-and-home toward the end of the week. ... Manitou Springs dropped two of three games last week, the program's first two losses since March 20. One of those defeats came to league foe Buena Vista in a doubleheader. Meanwhile, Peyton is just one of three teams, regardless of classification, that is unbeaten.

Team Record Last Week

1. Lewis-Palmer 10-1 No. 1

2. Cheyenne Mountain 9-3 No. 2

3. Air Academy 6-4 No. 3

BREAKDOWN: Cheyenne Mountain and Air Academy are looking like the teams to beat in the 4A Southern League. They won't meet until May 5. Both teams face Lutheran (1-1 league) before then, while the Kadets also travel to St. Mary's (0-1 league) ahead of the showdown.

Team Record Last Week

1. Air Academy 7-2 No. 1

2. Palmer Ridge 8-4 No. 2

3. Cheyenne Mountain 7-2 Tied No. 3

BREAKDOWN: Thanks for keeping us in suspense, Mother Nature. That rain-snow mix from Friday night postponed the match between Air Academy and Cheyenne Mountain until May 6. The teams are the only ones still unbeaten in Southern League play. For the time being, the Indians have to host Pine Creek on Wednesday and travel to Palmer Ridge on Friday. Neither of those will be easy tasks.

Team Record Last Week

2. Pine Creek 7-3 No. 2

3. Doherty 5-5 No. 3

T3. St. Mary's 8-3 No. 3

BREAKDOWN: Don't look now but Doherty has gone from 0-5 to 5-5, including posting a 3-0 record in 5A CSML play. The big question now is can they extend that streak. The Spartans get Rampart (4-0 league) on Tuesday and Pine Creek (2-1 league) on Thursday. ... Air Academy shut out Cheyenne Mountain last week in a key PPAC battle. If the Indians can rebound with a win over Lewis-Palmer on Thursday, three teams would be tied with one league loss in the PPAC. ... Another nice win by Manitou Springs, defeating rival St. Mary's last week. That gives the Mustangs seven straight victories. CSCS lost to Lutheran, a four-win team three games under .500 over the weekend. With losses only to 3A teams, 2A Fountain Valley - riding a three-game win streak - vaults into the rankings.
