The Colorado High School Athletic Association stopped keeping record of widest margin of victory to promote the spirit of the game and good sportsmanship, but it’s safe to say that Sierra claimed the most lopsided Pikes Peak region victory of the year in a 101-7 victory Thursday in Class 4A CSML girls' basketball.
Sierra had five scorers in double figures, led by Azaria Lacour with 14 points. D’Nae Wilson and Gwen Johnson each scored 13, followed by Jasmine Monroe-Shivers (11) and Annalisa Mileto (10). Six other Stallions scored no fewer than five points.
Although Sierra scored 101 points, the team had just 26 rebounds. Sierra also had 36 steals, led by Aubrey Robinson and Lacour with six each.
Sierra led 31-0 after the first quarter and 53-4 at halftime. The Stallions outscored Mitchell 21-0 in the fourth quarter.
Sierra also won its boys' basketball matchup with Mitchell, defeating the Marauders 51-30.
