Pine Creek 11, Coronado 0

At Coronado: The Eagles scored 10 of their runs in the first two innings and cruised from there to remain perfect in the 5A Colorado Springs Metro League.

Pine Creek (8-2, 4-0) added a final score in the fourth.

Evan Faucher batted in four runs on two hits, Kyle Moran had a three-RBI double, Justin Olson went 2 for 2 and Zac Heisler was 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Jay Onken allowed just one hit and struck out nine batters in four innings.

The Cougars (3-4, 0-2) have suffered three straight losses.

Fountain-Fort Carson 10, Doherty 4

At Doherty: The Trojans supplied 17 hits and rallied from a 4-2 deficit to take the 5A CSML game.

Fountain-Fort Carson (5-3, 2-0) scored two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Doherty (2-8, 0-4) had 12 hits and scored four runs in the third and fourth innings.

TCA 2-11, Vista Ridge 1-0

At TCA: The Titans scored two runs in the first inning and escaped with a nonconference win in the first game of a doubleheader. 

In the second game, Brayden Luft went 3 for 4 with five RBIs, Ethan Boyles was 4 for 4 with two runs scored, and Stephen Smith threw a two-hitter with three strikeouts in a complete outing to lift the Titans.

Smith also went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for The Classical Academy (3-5), which jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Teammate Matt Roper was 2 for 2.

Brandon Fehrm struck out three batters for Vista Ridge (1-7).

Ellicott 5, SkyView Academy 2

At Ellicott: Brandon Merriam was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Clay Sanger went 3 for 4 and the Thunderhawks jumped to a 4-0 lead in the third inning to take early control of the nonconference game.

Osman Rios was also 2 for 4 for Ellicott (3-3).

The Thunderhawks used three pitchers as Sanger led with six strikeouts and Merriam and Nolan Favreau both struck out five batters.

SkyView Academy (1-4) has dropped its last two games.

Peyton 4, Front Range Christian 0

At Front Range Christian: The Panthers scored three runs in the sixth inning to come away with the nonconference win.

Peyton junior pitcher Rodney Gregg had an impressive outing on the mound, finishing with 12 strikeouts. He allowed just one hit in seven innings.

Jaeden Meyers was 3 for 3 with one RBI and a double for Peyton (9-1), which has won four straight. Teammate AJ Strobel went 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Manual 14, Harrison 2

At Harrison: The Panthers (0-9) stayed winless this season after giving 12 runs in the fourth inning of nonconference action.

Cade Curran and Eric Fontes each batted in three runs for Manual (4-3).

Golden 7, Woodland Park 2

At Golden: The Panthers fell behind 4-0 in the second inning and couldn't overcome the deficit.

Woodland Park (6-4) scored in the third and seventh innings.

Golden (7-2) used three pitchers, who combined to hold the Panthers to six hits. The Demons have been on a roll, winning their last four games.

BOYS' LACROSSE

Rocky Mountain 15, Palmer 3

At French Field: The Terrors fell behind 9-0 at halftime before allowing six more goals in the third quarter of the nonconference game.

Will Johnson led the Lobos (4-2) with five goals, followed by three apiece from Tate Martinez and Stephen Santini.

Palmer (1-3) managed to put up three goals in the second half.

GIRLS' LACROSSE

Pine Creek 10, Valor Christian 2

At Pine Creek: The Eagles continue to surge early this season, this time jumping to an 8-1 halftime lead to hand Valor Christian (4-3) its first loss in three games in nonconference action.

Pine Creek (6-0) held its opponent to a goal in each half.

Kent Denver 21, Air Academy 10

At D-20 Stadium: The Kadets fell behind 9-5 at halftime before allowing 12 goals in the second half of the high-scoring nonconference game.

Air Academy (4-2) has dropped its past two games.

The Sun Devils (2-3) have won two of their last three matchups.

GIRLS' SOCCER

Canon City 8, Palmer 0

At Canon City: Cassidy Heimel recorded a hat trick, Abigail Rupp added two more scores and the Tigers had a 4-0 halftime lead to stay in control of the nonconference game.

Three others scored for Canon City (4-3-1), which has captured two of its last three games.

Palmer fell to 0-7.

TCA 6, Discovery Canyon 0

At Pine Creek: Trinity Harvey led with two goals and both Ashlie McFarlane and Julie Munch finished with a goal and two assists as the Titans went ahead 3-0 at halftime of the nonconference game.

Lauren Fletcher finished with three saves for The Classical Academy (4-1-2).

Discovery Canyon (3-3) has dropped its last two games.

Palmer Ridge 4, Niwot 1

At Don Breese Stadium: Cassey Campbell, Sarah Miller, Emily Nguyen and Anna Sveska each scored a goal as the Bears produced an all-around effort in the nonconference game to capture their second straight victory.

Palmer Ridge (4-2-1) led only 1-0 at halftime before putting up three goals in the second half.

Pine Creek 4, Smoky Hill 1

At Smoky Hill: Bri Ellsworth led with two goals, and Greer Garcher assisted on two scores as the Eagles took over in the second half with three goals in the nonconference game.

Lauren Lacy finished with six saves for Pine Creek (2-3), which snapped a three-game losing skid.

Smoky Hill (1-8) has lost its last seven games.

Manitou Springs 8, The Pinnacle 0

At Manitou Springs: Brooklyn Mack exploded for five goals, Sophie McKeown added two and three others scored as the Mustangs took control with eight first-half goals in the nonconference game.

Manitou Springs (6-1) has won three straight, while The Pinnacle (3-6) has dropped three games in a row.

Windsor 6, Sand Creek 1

At Sand Creek: The Scorpions (5-2) suffered their second straight loss after giving up five goals in the first half of the nonconference game.

Windsor (6-0-1) has won five straight contests.

CSCS 3, Fountain Valley 1

At Fountain Valley: The Colorado Springs Christian School (6-0) broke up a 1-1 halftime tie with two goals in the second half of the nonconference game to extend its perfect record.

Lisa Heuberger had a goal for Fountain Valley (2-1).

Rye 10, Ellicott 0

At Ellicott: Ella Peters scored six goals for Rye (2-3) as Ellicott fell to 0-7 overall.

Denver Christian 9, ECA 0

At El Pomar Sports Complex: The Eagles (0-6) allowed five goals in the second half of the nonconference game as Denver Christian's Kara Amidon finished with a hat trick and two other Thunder players produced two goals.

Denver Christian (4-2) has won two in a row.

BOYS' SWIMMING AND DIVING

Arapahoe Invitational

At Arapahoe: Aric Althouse won the one-meter diving event to lead Lewis-Palmer to a third-place finish with 394 points.

Arapahoe had seven first-place finishes to take the team title with 608 points, while Cherokee Trail (459) finished as runner-up. Doherty (210) and Brighton (149) rounded out the top five.

Other highlights for Lewis-Palmer included Marcus Cantorna taking third in the 100-meter butterfly in 1 minute, 2.41 seconds, Joseph Graff finishing third in the 200 medley in 2:19.01 and the Rangers' 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams capturing second-place finishes.
