Coronado 13, Fountain-Fort Carson 12

At Coronado: Coronado continued its winning streak in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh inning against Fountain-Fort Carson to bring the Cougars back to .500 in the regular season and 5A Colorado Springs Metro League play.

Nathan Papenfuss, Bryce McKee and Ashton Rogers had two RBIs each for Coronado while the team had a solid day at the plate, hitting a combined .412.

The loss was the second defeat for Fountain-Fort Carson in the 5A CSML. The Trojans are now 6-5.

La Junta 5, The Classical Academy 4

At La Junta: TCA scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a narrow one-run lead against La Junta, but the Tigers fired back with two in the bottom of the inning for the eventual non-conference victory.

TCA falls to .500 at 6-6.

Palmer Ridge 12, Pueblo South 2, 6 innings

At Palmer Ridge: Ben Kleinsmith knocked in five runs for Palmer Ridge as the Bears claimed a mercy-rule win over Pueblo South.

Kleinsmith and Bridger Havens each hit homers in the six-inning contest, while Jack Flinn and Jake Wade also had multiple hits.

Palmer Ridge (9-2) has won four straight.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Coronado Cougar Classic at Kissing Camels Golf Course: Air Academy took the team title thanks to an individual performance from Isabell Deak, who won the invitational shooting two over par.

Cheyenne Mountain’s Maxine Choi took second (+7) helping the Indians to a third-place team finish.

Coronado placed third as Madi Eurich tied for third (+10) with Palmer’s Charlotte Cliatt.

The Terrors placed fourth in the team scores with a +55, followed by Rampart with +68.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Lewis-Palmer 13, Palmer 5

At Don Breese Stadium: The Rangers get back to .500 and remain undefeated in the conference with a decisive 5A Jeffco conference win over Palmer.

The Terrors are 1-6 and 0-3 in league play.

Chaparral 16, Pine Creek 4

At Chaparral: The Wolverines overwhelmed Pine Creek, scoring eight goals in each half of a non-conference game for the Eagles’ second loss of the season.

Pine Creek falls to 8-2.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

St Mary’s 10, James Irwin 0At Grace Center: Cassidy Sorensen scored her first hat trick of the year, while Faith Heery and Mary Brummel scored two goals each as the Pirates claimed a 3A Region 1 win over James Irwin.

Marisa Shigio, Brooklyn Valdez and Isabella Thomas also found the back of the net for the Pirates (7-2, 3-0). Becca Dunbaugh and Paige Indovina had a combined five saves in the Pirates' seventh shutout of the year.

James Irwin is 4-6-1 and 1-3 in league play.

Air Academy 2, Discovery Canyon 0

At D-20 Stadium: The Kadets netted a pair of goals in the second half for a 4A/5A Pikes Peak conference win over Discovery Canyon (4-5, 0-2).

The Kadets are 4-3-1 and 2-1 in the PPAC.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Discovery Canyon 6, Liberty 1

At Liberty: Discovery Canyon (5-3, 2-1) swept the singles matches and won three of four doubles events for a 4A Region 1 win over Liberty (3-4, 0-5).

DC’s Mattie Kuntzelman battled with Liberty’s Hana Kimmey for a win at No. 1 singles. Kuntzelman won the first set 6-4 before falling 3-6 in the second. She came back to defeat Kimmey 7-5 in the third set for the Thunder’s first match win of the day.

Simree Stolk and Zoey Hansen were Liberty’s lone winners at No. 3 doubles, defeating Discovery Canyon’s Erin Storch and Lauren Barnes 6-4, 6-2.

Widefield 4, Colorado Springs School 3

At Country Club of Colorado: After being swept by CSS in the first three singles matches, the Widefield doubles teams battled for four straight wins for a nonleague victory.

Alicia Dendon and Mariah Boudrieau defeated CSS’ No. 1 doubles pair of Julia Paschal and Annika Wooten with ease, 6-0, 6-1.

Cheyanne Duk and Makeeda Cato at No. 2 doubles, Lauryn Stephens and Caitlyn Anderson at No. 3 and Daniela Diaz and Kailani Peru at No. 4 doubles all claimed victories for the Gladiators (5-1).

CSS singles dominated, as freshman Jules Thompson defeated Widefield senior Victoria Bowen at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0, followed by a 6-1, 6-1 victory by Kate Griffin at No. 2 singles. Hina Suzuki defeated Faith Bower 6-3, 6-1 for the Kodiaks’ (2-4) final win of the day.
