Pine Creek 16, Liberty 0

At Pine Creek: Pine Creek’s Riley Cornelio preserved his perfect record with a one-hit win on the mound, striking out 12 Liberty batters along the way.

His efforts helped the Eagles extend their winning streak to seven games and a perfect record in 5A CSML play.

Parker Gregory led Pine Creek, hitting 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Jay Onken and Justin Olson also had multiple RBIs.

The Lancers (3-10, 3-4) had seven errors leading to 12 unearned runs for Pine Creek.

Austin Franco had Liberty’s lone hit.

Fountain-Fort Carson 11, Durango 6, 9 innings

At Durango: Fountain-Fort Carson scored five runs in the top of the ninth to lock in a nonconference win over Durango.

The Demons scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, but the Trojan bats stayed hot, led by Ryan Stratton who hit 4 for 5 with a double and a home run for two RBIs.

Garrett Thibault had two hits, a double and a triple and batted in three runs. Tyler Harrison and Shaun Cox also had two RBIs for the Trojans (8-5, 4-2).

Nate Lengeman earned the win on the mound, pitching through extras. He struck out three. Thibault did the work in early innings, fanning three batters and allowing three earned runs.

Lewis-Palmer 10, Vista Ridge 0

At Lewis-Palmer: Lewis-Palmer hit six doubles on the way to a five-inning shutout of Vista Ridge to break a four-game losing skid with a 4A/5A PPAC win.

Brady Choban, Beau Gent and Johnny Houck batted in two runs each for Lewis-Palmer (9-5, 5-4). Jason Shuger and Jackson Rorex split the shutout. Shuger got the win, striking out four batters through four innings.

The Wolves are 4-10 and 3-6 in league play.

Palmer Ridge 13, Falcon 2

At Palmer Ridge: Falcon held a narrow one-run lead heading into the fourth inning, but Palmer Ridge found its bats in the bottom of the fourth and smacked in five runs to take the lead in a 4A/5A PPAC game, which it never surrendered.

JT Pfoff led the Bears (11-3, 7-2) batting in three RBIS. Ben Kleinsmith, Bridger Havens and Jack Flynn had three hits. Kleinsmith and Flynn batted in two runs each, along with Tate Glen who had a two-RBI single.

JC Watne tossed a three-hitter and struck out six batters through six innings for Palmer Ridge.

Kody Sellers hit a two-RBI double in the third for Falcon’s only runs. Falcon is 6-6 and 3-5 in the PPAC.

Cheyenne Mountain 10, Sand Creek 0

At Cheyenne Mountain: Jack Denker went 3 for 3 with four RBIs to lead Cheyenne Mountain past Sand Creek.

Bryan Reich tossed a two-hitter and struck out one through four innings of work for the Indians (11-3, 8-1 4A/5A PPAC).

Taber Banks and Ryan Scaggs had the Scorpions (2-12, 0-9 PPAC) only hits on the day.

Air Academy 14, Discovery Canyon 9

At Discovery Canyon: Bo Powers and Grant Shandy hit homers in the Kadets 4A/5A PPAC win over Discovery Canyon.

Powers’ work at the plate brought in four runs, followed by a pair of hits by Justin Rodrigues, which plated three.

Shandy earned the win on the mound for Air Academy (6-8, 6-3) striking out eight batters through six innings of work.

Discovery Canyon is 7-6 and 4-5 in league play.

Rampart 7, Doherty 4

At Doherty: Rampart scored seven runs through the last three innings to eliminate a four-run deficit and claim a 5A CSML win over Doherty.

Michael Bishop led the Rams(6-9, 4-4) hitting 2 for 3 with three RBIs, while Caden Jones hit a two-RBI single.

David Cooper and Randy Good batted in runs for Doherty (5-11, 3-7).

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Palmer 123, Widefield/Mesa Ridge 55

At Widefield/ Mesa Ridge: Skyler Gilliam, Kory Crutcher and Giles Lewis won two individual events each as Palmer claimed its first dual win of the season.

Gilliam touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle (2:10.11) and the 100 back (1:08.75), while Crutcher won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly in 2:27.36 and 1:09.47, respectively. Lewis won the 50 (25.78) and 500 (6:08.91) freestyle races.

Widefield/Mesa Ridge’s only win of the day came from Dax Wilson in one-meter diving, who scored 154.80 points, just 0.20 points off teammate Zion Dean.

Cherokee Trail 16, Pine Creek 8

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Rock Canyon 17, Liberty 5

At Rock Canyon: Olivia Mccrary scored four goals for the Lancers, but it wasn’t enough in a nonconference loss to Rock Canyon. Liberty falls to 3-6.

Palmer Ridge 20, Palmer 5

At Don Breese Stadium: The Bears scored 13 goals in the first half, and seven more in the second for good measure.

Aspen Reed scored three goals for the Terrors, while Dom Samadeni and Anna VanDyk also found the back of the cage for Palmer (1-9, 0-5).

Pine Creek 17, Castle View 7

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Liberty 9, Fountain-Fort Carson 0

At Liberty: The Lancers had help from nine different scorers in a 5A CSML win over Widefield.

Sydney Englekins and Kimberly McKinney each had a goal and an assist for Liberty, which scored three goals in the first half and six in the second.  

The Lancers are in second in 5A CSML standings at 3-1 and are 3-6-1 overall. Fountain-Fort Carson is 4-7-2 and 1-4 in the CSML.

Falcon 2, Widedield 0

At Widefield: Two first-half goals lifted the Falcons over Widefield in a nonconference match.

The Gladiators are 4-8-1, while Falcon is 5-6.
