With Pine Creek (Class 4A) and Palmer Ridge (3A) in state high school football championships Saturday, there is a chance for two state champions in The Gazette's Pikes Peak coverage area.

The last time that happened (using current school coverage) was not too long ago - 2013 when Pine Creek (4A) and Coronado (3A) both won.

The previous time, according to chsaanow.com archives was way back in 1977 with Mitchell (3A out of four classes then) and the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (8-man).

Stay with Gazettepreps.com for full coverage of Saturday's games.
