One of Rampart’s biggest tests in 5A will come on Tuesday as the Rams host Pikes Peak No. 1 Doherty, which is riding an eight-game winning streak.

Liberty holds its ground at No. 3 for another week and will face Pine Creek, Coronado and 4A No. 1 Lewis-Palmer next week.

Class 4A

  1. Lewis-Palmer (11-0)
  2. Palmer Ridge (10-3)
  3. Falcon (6-4)

Dropped out: N/A

Breakdown: Palmer Ridge reclaimed the No. 2 spot in Pikes Peak 4A after a 2-0 week. Although Falcon holds the tiebreaker over the Bears with a four-point win two weeks ago, the Falcons are still relatively unproven, and fell to No. 1 Lewis-Palmer by 26 points on Wednesday.

The Rangers capped off a 3-0 week with a 15-point win over No. 28 Pueblo East. Lewis-Palmer will face arguably its biggest nonleague challenge of the year on Saturday when the team faces 5A Pikes Peak No. 3 Liberty.

Class 3A and below

  1. The Vanguard School (8-1)
  2. Calhan (6-2)
  3. Colorado Springs Christian (7-4)

Last Friday, Vanguard broke a program record, scoring 103 points against Eagle Ridge Academy. The Coursers lead the state, averaging 75.7 points per game.

Calhan is on a four-game winning streak and will face its toughest league opponent in Simla this week.

Class 5A

  1. Doherty (11-3)
  2. Liberty (9-2)
  3. Rampart (4-8)

Dropped out: Pine Creek (4-7)

On the cusp: Fountain-Fort Carson - The 7-5 Trojans came close to their Pikes Peak debut thanks to a 2-0 week.

Breakdown: Since a three-point loss to Doherty two weeks ago the Liberty girls basketball team is on a 3-0 run, and will face No. 27 Pine Creek this Tuesday.

Pine Creek fell to Doherty in overtime this week as the Eagles challenged the Pikes Peak No. 1. The Spartans will have a light week with just one game against Pikes Peak No. 3 Rampart on Wednesday.

The Rams stormed back into the Pikes Peak Rankings with a three-point win over Pine Creek this week, and thanks to a 10.6 strength of schedule, moved back into the area’s 5A top 3.

Class 4A

  1. Air Academy (11-1)
  2. Mesa Ridge (8-2)
  3. Widefield (8-3)

The Gladiators have won five of their past six games.

Air Academy continues its stellar season on an eight-game winning streak with the toughest part of its schedule in the rear view mirror. The Kadets' biggest 4A challenge will be against 10-2 Lewis-Palmer on Friday.

CSCS will face 3A No. 10 Vanguard on Wednesday.

St. Mary’s remains atop the Pikes Peak rankings for the third straight week as it seems like no one in Class 3A can stop the Pirates. St. Mary’s will have a light one-game week as it faces Buena Vista on Thursday.

After a stellar start to the season, Colorado Springs School faced its first loss of the year in a one-point defeat by Calhan.
