Paonia 13, Peyton 0

At Peyton: Despite a credible 8-1 start to the season, No. 8 Peyton fell in a first-round state playoff game to No. 9 Paonia. The Eagles opened scoring in the second quarter, but failed a 2-point conversion, then scored with six minutes to play off a 3-yard rush by Jaden Miller.

Peyton finishes the season 8-2 after claiming the 1A Tri-Peaks title.

Centauri 21, CSCS 7

At Centauri: Colorado Springs Christian battled through high winds to tie its first-round playoff game in the final minute of the first half thanks to a 64-yard pass from Jordan Greager to Grant Baker. But the Falcons scored two unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to lock in a first-round playoff win.

CSCS finishes the season 6-4.

Montrose 49, Palmer 0

At Garry Berry Stadium: Montrose put up 21 points in the first quarter on the way to a 4A Pikes Peak rout of the Terrors, leaving Palmer with a winless season. Montrose was the fifth team this season to shut out the Terrors (0-10, 0-5), who scored just 48 points in 10 games.

Discovery Canyon 21, Falcon 14

At Discovery Canyon: A 35-yard fumble return for a touchdown at the end of the second quarter was the turning point for the Thunder, who closed out the regular season with a much-needed 3A Southern win over Falcon (2-8, 2-3).

Midway through the second quarter Falcon recovered a fumble, drove down to the end zone and tied the game with a 2-point conversion, but Jonah Isakson played hero for the Thunder to punch in a 1-yard eventual game-winning touchdown.

Discovery Canyon finishes the regular season 6-4 and second in the league at 4-1.
