The night is over, and Colorado Springs has five wrestlers who finished with state titles.

They are: Discovery Canyon's Patrick Allis (120), Air Academy's Jason Hanenberg (132), Cheyenne Mountain's Mike McFadden (138) and Mesa Ridge's Elijah Valdez (152) in Class 4A and The Classical Academy's Nathan Johns (182) in 3A.

UPDATE 9:20 p.m.

Colorado Springs wrestlers are pulling off stunning wins during the CHSAA state championships.

So far, Discovery Canyon's Patrick Allis (120), Air Academy's Jason Hanenberg (132), Cheyenne Mountain's Mike McFadden (138) and Mesa Ridge's Elijah Valdez (152) have earned state titles in Class 4A.

Mesa Ridge's Mike True (285 in 4A) and The Classical Academy's Nathan Johns (182 in 3A) have yet to wrestle.

UPDATE 8 p.m.

Discovery Canyon's Patrick Allis topped Windsor's Vance VomBaur 5-4 in the 120-pound match of the Class 4A state tournament, becoming the first wrestler from the Pikes Peak region to earn a gold medal Saturday night.

In the final seconds, VomBaur earned a takedown to go up 4-3 before Allis received points from a penalty for locking hands and an escape.

It's almost time.

The 2018 Colorado High School Athletics Association State Wrestling ends Saturday evening with the championship matches, which start at 6:30 p.m. And seven wrestlers from the Pikes Peak region will be competing for state glory.
