Breakdown: Coronado continued its fast start with two more wins last week but won't play again until April 1. Pine Creek plays at Doherty on Wednesday in its Colorado Springs Metro League opener, then heads out for suburban Phoenix to the Coach Bob National Tournament over spring break. . Early season 4A/5A Pikes Peak Athletic Conference play kicks up this week with Air Academy facing Sand Creek, Cheyenne Mountain going up against Discovery Canyon and Palmer Ridge - which got a key win last week against 4A power Pueblo West - playing Vista Ridge. . St. Mary's is hosting its annual 12-team tournament this weekend at the Grace Center (with a few games in Manitou Springs as well), almost on cue with a winter storm that's forecast to impact much of the area, starting Thursday night and continuing through Friday. Peyton has outscored its opponents 53-13 in its first three games.

Breakdown: Pine Creek plays host to Ralston Valley on Thursday at D20 Stadium, the first meeting between the schools since the Mustangs eliminated the Eagles last month in the 5A girls' basketball playoffs. Rampart will have its hands full Wednesday against a 3-0 Legend team that has outscored its opponents 11-1. . All eyes should be on the pitch at TCA on Tuesday when reigning 4A state champ Lewis-Palmer heads a few miles south with a score to settle. The Rangers' lone loss last season came to the Titans. L-P follows that with a road game at Green Mountain (3-0 heading into the week) on Wednesday. . It should be an interesting matchup when Manitou Springs heads north Tuesday to face Jefferson Academy in a battle of 3-0 teams. Neither team has allowed a goal, with the teams combining for 44 goals

Breakdown: Cheyenne Mountain has hit double digits in each of its three games, all wins, and looks to continue that momentum Wednesday at Conifer. Then, it's off to Virginia for a tournament over spring break. Two new teams break into the top three. Lewis-Palmer, which has won its three games by three goals or fewer, gets its toughest test Wednesday when the Rangers host longtime power Valor Christian, while Pine Creek hosts undefeated Columbine (2-0) on Tuesday in the Eagles' lone game this week.

Breakdown: Pine Creek hits the road Tuesday for a key nonleague match at 3-0 Dakota Ridge. The Eagles have dropped their past two to in the series. Air Academy's only blemish is a 12-11 loss to Mullen on March 14 and takes a two-game winning streak into its match at Palmer (Garry Berry) on Wednesday. Cheyenne Mountain will hope to snap a two-game slide, but it won't be easy Tuesday at a 4-0 Centaurus team that hasn't allowed more than six goals in a game this season.
