GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

St. Mary’s 83, Buena Vista 54

At St. Mary’s: Sophomore guard Josephine Howery led all scorers with 19 points and was joined by Mary Cummings (13), Brooklyn Valdez (13) and Makenna Bodette (12) in double figures as the Pirates improved to 11-0.

Howery entered as her team's leading scorer at 14.8 points per game.

St. Mary’s led 52-20 at halftime.

The Pirates will look to extend their perfect start against a 6-5 Florence squad on Wednesday.

Mesa Ridge 80, Mitchell 15

At Mesa Ridge: The Grizzlies coasted out of the gate, opening up a 31-1 lead after the first quarter.

Chloe Welch and Serin Dunne led 11 scorers for the Grizzlies (10-2) with 12 points apiece, while Kylie Lenberg added 10.

Mitchell dropped to 0-13.

Liberty 69, Coronado 28

At Liberty: Lydia Marshall dropped 21 points, as the Lancers picked up their 10th win of the season.

The Lancers led 32-0 after the opening period.

Marisol Estrada led the Cougars with 15 points.

Rampart 44, Palmer 26

At Rampart: Senior Madi Wriedt led Rampart’s balanced scoring attack with nine points, while Becca Dunn snagged seven rebounds.

The Rams (5-9) saw 10 different players score.

Sanee’ Cates led all scorers with 11 points for the Terrors (3-12).

The Classical Academy 46, Sierra 42

At TCA: Senior Raeann Queener’s 17 points helped the Titans improve to 11-2.

Sierra (9-5) got 11 points from Jasmine Monroe-Shivers and D’Nae Wilson.

Widefield 59, Harrison 19

At Harrison: The Gladiators put the clamps on Harrison, allowing just 10 points over the final three quarters.

Charisse Fairley and Aaliyah Ricketts scored 17 points apiece for Widefield (10-3), while Shynesti Johnson posted a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Harrison dropped to 3-9.

Canon City 41, Woodland Park 29

At Woodland Park: Junior Ellie Till led the Tigers (7-7) to a league win with 14 points, while sophomore Kate Tedquist hit three 3-pointers and added 11.

Kylee Newsome was the only Woodland Park (4-10) player to reach double figures with 11 points.

Fountain-Fort Carson 45, Colby 36

At Colby, Kansas: The Trojans rebounded from scoring just four points in the first quarter by winning the second quarter 12-2 to take a 16-10 lead at halftime in a tournament opener.

Samiyah Worrell and Danae Christensen scored 14 and 12 points, respectively, for Fountain-Fort Carson (8-5).

Worrell added five steals while Christensen came down with seven rebounds.

Scott City 59, Pine Creek 43

At Colby, Kansas: The Eagles (5-8) trailed 33-26 at halftime and failed to closed the gap in the second half.

Freshman Jordyn Gutierrez led Pine Creek with 15 points and eight rebounds.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Rampart 79, Palmer 51

At Palmer: Dawson Carper took advantage of an undersized Palmer squad, making 13 of his 14 shots from the field to lead the Rams with 28 points and nine rebounds.

Jack McReynolds hit eight of nine from the field add 21 points for the Rams (10-5).

Fountain-Fort Carson 63, Scott City (Kan.) 52

At Colby, Kansas: Rashon Barron led three Trojans in double figures with 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the field. The junior also hauled in a team-high 15 rebounds and blocked three shots. Christian Tolentino added 14 points for Fountain-Fort Carson, while James Sanders added 12.

Widefield 79, Harrison 58

At Widefield: The Gladiators used a 19-5 advantage in the second quarter and a 28-point third quarter to break the game open.

Senior Tre Pierre led Widefield (9-4) with 25 points, while Myreik Goodwin-Lagree chipped in 14.

Donta Dawson led Harrison (5-8) with 24 points.

Liberty 71, Coronado 61

At  Coronado: The Lancers (12-4) created needed cushion with a 24-14 edge in the third quarter before Coronado won the fourth 18-9.

Jacob Burns hit a pair of 3-pointers and led Liberty with 19 points, while Moz Doria added 15 points and four rebounds. Kyle Bohuslavsky (13) Agustin Rivas (12) and Sean Bohuslavsky (10) also hit double figures for the Lancers.

Ashton Rogers led Coronado (3-13) with 20 points.

Mesa Ridge 89, Mitchell 49

At Mesa Ridge: Tristan Widic’s hot hand helped the Grizzlies improve to 9-4.

The senior hit six 3-pointers en route to a game-high 24 points, while Devon Ricketts added 14.

Mitchell (1-12) got 11 points from senior Noah Cisna.

Swimming

Air Academy 201, Palmer 94

Aleksandra Olesiak won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 2.76 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.02 to lead the Kadets to their second dual victory. Olesiak also had a hand in Air Academy’s win in the 400 freestyle relay, teaming with Sarah Baker, Kate Nelson and Bella Piasentin to turn in a 4:10.85.

Palmer’s 200 freestyle relay team of Margy Schueler, Jeanne Vera, Lina Rettig and Annabel Lewis gave the Terrors a win, finishing in 2:00.57.

Wrestling

Coronado 49, Pine Creek 24

Mason Micci (106), Daven Ollier-Monell (113), Stefon Montoya (120) and Ben Tonnessen (170) earned pins for the Cougars.

Mitch Dunlap (138), Kian Colonese (152)and Zachery Vannaman (160) won via fall for Pine Creek.
