BOYS' SOCCER

Mesa Ridge 3, Mitchell 2

At Mesa Ridge: Kyle Kuhfeld, Tristan Widic and Jan Guevara each scored a goal in the first half to lead the Grizzlies to their fifth consecutive win. Mesa Ridge improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the 4A Colorado Springs Metro League standings, while Mitchell dropped to 4-4 and 1-1.

Mesa Ridge hasn't lost since a 7-1 defeat to Sand Creek on Sept. 6.

FIELD HOCKEY

Cheyenne Mountain 2, Liberty 2 (OT)

At D-20 Stadium: Madelyn Lewis scored two second-half goals to put the Indians (5-4-1) back in the game and send it into overtime. But neither team was able to score in extra time.

MacKenzie Dudevoir and Tina Bomberg each scored for the Lancers (2-7-2).

VOLLEYBALL

Manitou Springs 3, Florence 0

At Florence: McKayla Cully recorded 11 kills and 18 digs as the Mustangs got a 25-18, 25-23, 25-14 sweep over the Huskies, who suffered just their third loss of the season. Kylie Middleton added seven kills and Abbie Boren finished with 29 assists for Manitou Springs, which improved to 6-6 overall and 4-1 in the 3A Tri-Peaks League standings.

Florence dropped to 13-3 and 3-2.

SOFTBALL

St. Mary’s 4, La Junta 1

At La Junta: The Pirates broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the eighth inning of the 3A District 2 League game, lifting St. Mary’s to its seventh straight win.

The Pirates improved to 10-5 overall and 4-4 in league play, while La Junta dropped to 7-7 and 5-3.

St. Mary’s also scored a run in the sixth and finished with nine hits.
